I wasn't too sure about how I would like this book because I had never read any of Cherry Adair's books before but I thought it would be a nice change from some of the paranormal I would normally choose. I started reading and right away I liked the way everything is explained in the beginning of the book and gives the background story and how everything began and then moves into the present day that just gave me a pretty good feel about the book. The book is well written and there is plenty of details to go along with the romance, magic and wizardry. Eventhough at times the story is out there a ways it keeps your attention and is a pretty good read and I did enjoy it but then again it is a work of fiction and I am kind of expecting things to be out there a bit and not the norm. I was able to get lost in a good story and forget about my long day and that is one of the reasons I like to read so much. I think that Black Magic is the first in a new series and the next one will be Dangerous Magic.
