I enjoyed the dialogue in this book because it feels real, like a conversation my son or students have. The joshin' back and forth made me laugh out loud several times and it's an easy read. The topic is great...

My only thing is...for such a big topic I would have liked to get into it more. The climax of the story came 3/4ths of the way through the story and so the struggle was hard for me to get into. I really thought Andre, the main character would take his background and father's struggle and pull us into deep turmoil with him, he didn't. The story says he's sad for a while, pulls away, but I didn't feel that so I didn't feel the weight of the topic and Andre's struggle.

It's a good read and of course has a happy ending.

P.S. Some might not like some of the language. It stopped me at first, but then I read through it the rest of the way.
