Princess of Glass (Princess #2)

by Jessica Day George (Goodreads Author)
Another adorable young adult novel by Jessica Day George - this one an imaginative re-telling of the classic "Cinderella" fairy tale.
George manages to keep her version clean and sweet while making it darker and more adult than the Disneyfied version we all grew up on.
Princess of Glass is the story of Poppy, one of the middle sisters from Princess of the Midnight Ball. Poppy has been sent to a neighboring kingdom as part of a kind of exchange program designed to improve relations between countries. She's adjusting nicely, making friends and even finding a handsome beau, when magic begins to enter her life once more.
Eleanora, a penniless-orphan-turned-maid, thinks her luck has finally changed when she's contacted by her Fairy Godmother. She's soon to find out, however, that her Godmother isn't exactly the benefactress she's professed to be.
This book is filled with magic, romance and adventure. It's a fresh, fun take on Cinderella, and I loved it.
