Exactly what I like in a romance ie: the bishop's wife bantering in a carriage with a rake. Also, she has some rad friends who are total hooches and she learns some anachronistic feminist lessons. Yay! More like this!

Feminista I am sorry, but this book is not feminist.

The whole book is full of double standards and degrading to women. It's okay for Mr Scandalous to sleep with other women, but when Serena does, he says something to the effect of "he didn't want others to know of her true nature". The fact that she slept with another man. So what? He slept with countless women.

Also, reducing Grace to a wager and then callously discarding her in front of her friends, knowing she would be humiliated, when she dared to wager marriage to him.

Grace had no backbone. There was absolutely nothing feminist about Grace.
