A friend of mine really loved this book. I really wanted to love it as well. I have been researching violence against women in Africa. I have joined Women for Women International. When I read the description I thought "I"m going to like this book."

I really, really wish I did.

I just found Sarah, Lawrence and Andrew so fundamentally unlikeable that it was hard to read Sarah's narrative. I also wanted more depth/explanation from Little Bee's narrative. I just think so much more could have been done with both perspectives. But. I did really want to like this novel.
