"batman's iconic transition from 'superfriend' to 'dark knight'"
miller knows batman, plain and simple. how else could he so precisely portray an elderly bruce wayne as the same old bad arse that we all know and love. miller's gritty tendencies show up wholeheartedly in this novel, and are perfect for the gritty backdrop of gotham. he proves that somethings get better with age, and this novel also applies. must read for any supposed comic fan, and a true classic of american literature. rooting for batman never felt so good!
