This book in the Plum series fleshes out the character of Vinnie...sort of. It actually gives him more than the normal walk-on that he gets in the other books only because he is part of the main premise of the story. Vinnie gets kidnapped and Stephanie and crew try to find him before the nappers decide to put an end to Vinnie's errant lifestyle. I was a bit disappointed in this book, but then I realized that there really isn't any flesh to the series anyway and decided that I enjoyed the book after all. Grandma Mazur gets into her usual issues and Lula is still Lula. There really isn't much of Ranger and Morelli to this book but what there is helps to soothe the need until the next book comes out. Write fast, Janet. Even though I didn't think this was one of your best or better books, I'm still anxious to read the next one.
