bookshelves: books-i-didn-t-like
Read in July, 2010

It is very rare that I will just throw a book down in disgust after having only read 30 pages of it. I did this one.

I have no idea why I bought this book. I seemed that every where I went this book was following me. I saw a chick reading it while standing in line. Every store I went in had it sitting there looking at me from the best sellers shelf. FB friends commented that they were reading it. I didn't even read the blurb on the back. I just bought it. What a waste of money. What a waste of paper. I even regret the energy expended in carrying the book into the house. I would like my 2 calories back that I expended in opening this book and turning the pages.

I hate everything about this book. If I see the author I'm going to punch an old lady near her in the face and say, "See, that's kinda what it was like when I read the first 30 pages of your stupid book." Then I'm going to go sacrifice a baby to the muses while I pray she never ever again writes another word. Even if she goes mute. Not even write "help" in the car window that's all misty with her hot breath while she's being kidnapped by Mexican Drug Fiends. Not even if she dreams of the numbers she will need to save the Earth from a bomb made by aliens and planted deep underground in Washington DC that will detonate and destroy humankind unless she enters the code to stop it and save us all. Not even then.

I want this book to DIAF!

I hate this book so much.

Rebecca Why did you hate it? Was it annoying? Did she slaughter cutesy animals? Throw spoiled fruits at cancer patients? Give us more info Tia!

Tia Jones Yes it was annoying, and racist, and it made my skin crawl with bad bad BAD dialog. And it was racist. The one black character I got to was fat, blonde haired, ex prostitute who went around eating everything in sight and being all saucy because she's black. Seriously. If you're only going to have one black character... don't let that be it. The police officers actually bribed her with fast food to get her to go up to the station. They should have just said, "We got us some watermelon, fried chicken, and hawg feets up at the office, come on you knows you wants some, I sees you lickin dem big lips."

Seriously, it made me want to vomit.

Tia Jones Also, it's dumb.

I was going to go take the test for mensa next week but just these 30 pages have lowered my IQ a whole 10 points (1 lost per page or racist stereotype, whichever came first) thereby killing my dreams of lording my intelligence over the other 98% of the population.

Thanks Janet Iwannapuke!

Tia Jones Also it's boring.

The plot is so skeezy and cheap.

Janet Iamacunt wrote a dumb, boring, skeezy, racist novel. I wonder what her mother would say?

Tia Jones Have I mentioned I hate this book so much?

I really hate this book.

Igloodwellerz Reading your review made ME want to vomit.. seriously? The fact that she has become famous, and rich off of this series says that she's anything but 'dumb'. Do you have a book out in print? The next time you want to leave a review for hundreds if not thousands to see, please be A) Respectful about it B) Avoid the immaturity and give valuable reasons as to why you don't like it. This isn't hard, many people act in a mature way and express their feelings in a sophisticated way that actually help those around them. It is more than alright to not like a writer, or a certain book, but please... grow up!

lol Being famous and making money does not make this series special. Plenty of stupid stuff is popular and makes money, it doesn't make it any better for it. If you'll notice in the comments I did specify why I hated it.
As for A) I shall not give respect to this piece of trash and B) meh, maturity is overrated.

I'm sorry you were offended that I hated this book so much maybe next time you might want to stop reading reviews where people leave opinions and stuff laying around.

Tia Jones PS: Your comment on my review made ME want to vomit. So there. And your mom is probably fat.

Jay Jessmer You have serious issues. This is a series for people to get a break from intelligent writing. This is all tounge-in-cheek,cheesy,campy,over-the-top fun. Nothing more, nothing less. My wife turned me onto these books, and like thousands of others, I love them. Stephanie rocks the world. Lula is a riot, and I have NEVER felt that her character evokes racism. If you did, you look way too deep and are lost in a different world. It's perfectly ok to not like a book or an author, but your outright anger over this shows that you have other issues in your life. These books never fail to make me smile and have given me more laugh out loud moments than I can remember. It's a shame you can't open your mind a little relax, and enjoy what so many others do. You're missing out on this one.

Tia Jones If you'd like to go around reading books that are stupid, poorly written, and tacky or as you put it, "to get a break from intelligent writing," please be my guest. I, however, will gladly refrain.

If you love them, continue to go forth and love them, my dislike does not affect you at all. Nor does your love of it affect me. Such is the way with life and opinions.

Also, please don't worry about my "deeper issues" any further. I have meds.
