Think and Grow Rich
by Napoleon Hill
by Napoleon Hill
Though dated, this book provides concrete ideas for anyone wanting to achieve a goal and take stock of their business (and personal) weaknesses that may be currently preventing them from achieving it. The one section that is clearly out of date in our society deals with the "weakness of sex" - altogether humorous from a modern perspective, but perhaps not untoward. When sexual energy can be channeled into other things, and not become an object of manipulation, it can become a useful tool.
But this, of course is only a side-note of the books material; the author presents several rigorous methods for self-evaluation. Additionally, for a book of such an early period, the emphasis on positive thinking and active assertion of verbal positivity smacks of '60s psychoanalysis - perhaps this is a train of thought ahead of its time...? For providing a framework to make progress, I highly recommend the book. For didactic adherence to someone else's plan, of which I am generally not fond, I recommend taking with a grain of salt, as it were.
