Saga of family nearly destroyed by accidental death incident...

In a logging camp near Twisted River, New Hampshire, a tragedy involving father and son occurs that will haunt them their entire lives. We then follow the pair from locale to locale, as they live in fear of discovery and persecution for what eventually becomes the long ago event. Throw in a bunch of descriptive sex, cooking tips, and writer machinations, and we have quite a tour de force that tends to either bore or entertain depending on the reader's psyche. We were loaned the book by a friend and felt compelled to see it through, else probably not the type of story that warranted the many hours invested. Seems readers either love this author or would just as soon dispense of him -- we probably belong to the latter camp.
