Love that this book finally articulated and backed up with research what I've always known -- both as a student of public schools and as a teacher in one. The belief that homework is necessary and makes "better" students is not supported by research. It's busy work. We assign it really only because parents demand it. Parents demand it because they don't know how to keep their kids busy. Simple as that. And sad...
