So embarrassed that I read this. I am definetely NOT a fan of romance novels at all. In fact, this book has the exact same plot as another book I read by her (The Things I Did for Love), the characters are just slightly different as are the circumstances. As a feminist it bothers me that the men have a reoccuring habit of forcing themselves on the women characters and the women secretly love it even though they tell the men to stop or put up a protest. Both of the Phillips books were found on free bookshelves and I read them as I had nothing else on hand. Her sex scenes however are pretty decent if you subtract out the dominating, ones. This one is better than The Things I Did for Love as the girl was taken advantage of as a teenager by the man she later loved. At least in this one there aren't implications of rape. All in all for stupid fluff you could do a lot worse, the banter between the sexes is sometimes amusing and Phillips sometimes suceeds in at least outlining arousing sex scenes.
