I won this book from First Reads on GoodReads! It is an Advanced Reader's Edition.

This was a fun little book. I can imagine getting it when I was maybe in second grade and liking it. For me the pictures to draw were no challenge so I would have been disappointed. But for a child whose talents lie elsewhere the simple drawings would have help promote a higher self-esteem.

The story itself was fun and creative moving the instructional parts seamlessly.

If I were to give this book to a child today I would try to include the right shapes and sizes of post-its so the child could try it over and over. Then supply a note-book to move the newly created story to a keepsake comic book of their own. That leaves the book reusable. My boy were comic book lovers and were always creating comics of their own. Comic books were the best method to get them on to reading for themselves.

Passing on tomorrow at BookCrossing Meeting at GrassRoots Books.
