A lot of people I respect and love enjoy this book very much, so clearly this is a matter of taste. I didn't finish this, so I won't rate, but this book just isn't my cup of tea. I never connected to anyone. Many, many points of view--not quite headhopping, I don't think, but as a reader I never grounded to anyone. I'm incredibly character-focused as a reader, and all I want to do is bond with someone and follow them around. But I never bonded, and I had a hard time keeping up with what was going on because of it.

That said, this is a very action-centered book. VERY action-centered. Concept-wise, I love it: a Clancy or Speilberg-style adventure full of gay men. I could probably watch the movie. But while the writing is perfect for the male adventure style, it's not something I can access as a reader.
