Yeah--about this book--so remember hatchet? that was a classic, right? we all read it in school and wanted to go survive in the wilderness for a summer. this one's a little less believable. here's the premise: after recovering from his escapades in canada, Brian gets a visit from some people saying he's the only one they've ever known to survive in the wild, and they want him to show them how he did it. Sorry Gary, but this can't be true. remember astronaut training that was done in the 60's? Remember that rugy team from Uruguay in the 70's in the Andes mountains? Remember Ernest Shackleton? That dude's a legend. if you can get over the fact that no one the government knows has survived on their own, then this book is pretty good. If you have to have some more hatchet, and if you can handle a little "farfetchedness", then give it a go. Or you could try one of my 6th grade classics--Deathwatch by Robb White.
