Too Much Money
by Dominick Dunne
by Dominick Dunne
A roman a clef about Dunne's exploits as a society reporter who dines with the victims of his columns. The Dunne character is Augustus (Gus) Bailey who is defending an 11 million dollar defamation suit for an article in "Park Avenue." As an antidote to the stress of the meritorious lawsuit, Gus is writing a thinly veiled novel about a notorious society murder- and the billionaire victim's widow is doing everything in her power to stop the project. Like Power, Privilege and Justice, Dunne's TruTv vehicle, this novel shows the rich really are different- though not always as we would expect. A guilty pleasure.
