3 1/2 stars (Technically, this is the same rating I gave (to?) Shoulda Been A Cowboy, but I liked this book better so I'm rounding my rating up to 4 stars.)
Here's "my" Kane:

Note: I know Kane's Stetson hat is black, but I took the liberty of changing it for a white one. Why? Because he's "my" Kane and I can do whatever I want with him, LOL.

Oh Kane...I didn't think this one was quite as good as some of the other ones.

Yeah, I've read some reviews and that's what most readers thought. I'm starting it with low expectations, so I might enjoy it better. :)So far, my least favorite in the series is Shoulda Been A Cowboy. Is Kane's book at least better than Cam's?
I actually loved Kane's book. Can't put my finger on why, it just struck a nerve with me. Was pretty disappointed in the next one, though. :6
I actually liked Cam's book. So, I don't know if I can answer that question for you, Dina, LOL. I thought Raising Kane was a good one but just not the best.Beanbag, I'm already not liking the next one too much. So far it's Jessie that's ruining it for me.
Leah, did you read the prologue of Jessie's book? I haven't read the book (yet) but I've been warned to skip the prologue: it's icky and adds nothing to the story.
Yes. That is part of what made me not like her so far. Basically, her husband is dead and to "get over it and move on" she gets drunk and has sex with a random stranger and almost participates in a gang bang with said strangers. Not good.
Yeah. Not good. I had this repulsed look on my face the whole time I was reading it. My first status update is about how nasty it was. Ugh.
Yeah, that prologue really set the book up to be a stinker, but it redeems itself by the end, IMO -- not to a five star level, but I think I gave it a 3.5 rounded to 4. I thought the behavior was completely OOC for the Jessie that we'd met in RK (and the one that continues through CDC) that it almost seems like a mistake that was supposed to be edited out.
I really liked this one Dina. I also wasn't as big a fan of Cam's book so maybe you will like Kane's book too.
