Classic drama on slavery with strong Christian theme and excellent characters and lots of information and commentary on the evils of slavery and the social systems and attitudes that existed in the slave states and in the north. Take aways: 'Today is all that you have' or 'Now is all the time I have anything to do with'. 'O, my Eva whose little hour on earth did so much of good', thought St. Clare, 'what account have I to give for my long years?'
