Shadow's Edge (Night Angel, #2)

My favorite of the Night Angel Trilogy books.
I don't feel this book suffers from middle-book syndrome at all. Rather, it expands on the coolness of the first book as Kylar becomes the 'face of Judgement' while expanding the story to really give the reader the sense of a living, breathing world that is larger than any 1 single character, with multiple plot lines and mysteries.
Solon and especially Dorian become much more prominent in this book. Vi Sovari also takes center stage. Kylar has some further character development as he must wrestle with his identity as not just a wetboy or even retired wetboy, but rather as the 'face of Judgement'.
In addition, I felt that Logan Gyre's story really advanced his character a lot -- lots of internal tension resulting in believable character development (that I don't feel happened to him in books 1 or 3...).
And then there is also the mystery of Ezra's Woods and the storyline of Sister Ariel and the Chantry. All of these devices and plots enrich the world and story that Brent Weeks has served us in this trilogy.
