Split Image (Jesse Stone, #9)
by Robert B. Parker
by Robert B. Parker
It was vacation, and I found myself without a decent book.
"Do you like Jesse Stone mysteries?" my dad asked.
"The movies are interesting."
And thus I found myself reading Split Image.
Sadly, Jesse Stone is one of those rare literary characters who is better on film than in print.
The detective's ongoing physical evaluations of women are tiresome... and the plot reinforces women (even those venerated for intelligence) as sex objects.
I finished the book, but I doubt I'll be reading any more of Robert B. Parker's novels.
