Sam is turning 11 tomorrow and he is still searching for his birthday presents...he ends up in the attic of his house. In the attic, he discovers a trunk with a newspaper article sticking out and it has a picture of him when he was very young, but he can only read the word "missing". Sam struggles with reading, so he asks a new girl at school, Caroline, to help him. Sam's greatest fear - he doesn't belong with Mack, his grandfather. Sam has always had some very strange dreams/memories about water, castle and a very mean woman. After reading the articles and everything they found in the trunk, Sam is sure he had another life before coming to live with Mack. I was a little disappointed in the ending...hoping for a little more drama.
