Outlandish fun. This was originally a serial in the New York Times Sunday Magazine, and Connelly reworked it for publication as a book. That means the paperback has one more chapter than the audiobook, which was a little confusing. The "extra" chapter at the end does a lot to tie things up.

The author threw in some interesting details about TLD rings (they are early-warning devices for radiation exposure). I also liked the crack about two obese detectives, who were partners, being nicknamed "Crate and Barrel."

Jan C Does this mean that you have become a Harry Bosch fan?

Kirsti No, it means that the last time I visited the library, they didn't have any audiobooks that really interested me, so I borrowed one Michael Connelly title and one Agatha Christie (the EPL has plenty of both). I don't dislike Connelly--I just find the quality of the books uneven.
