Not since the infamous love triangle of the Twilight Saga have I been so wrapped up in a story involving two immortals fighting over the outcome of a high school girl's soul. This story hooked me from page one, because you know automatically that Luc is a demon. He tells you in his first person prospective, and even gives you a mini run-down of how he can read emotions and what his job in Hell is. He's one of Hell's best demons in Acquisitions, and he's there to tag Frannie's soul for Hell because she is really wanted by the big boss down there. Luc is the ultimate bad boy, and if I were Frannie, I wouldn't have a chance to say no to him either.
The chemistry between Luc, aka Lucifer, and Frannie is undeniable, but Frannie is used to keeping people at a distance, so she does her best to avoid his (and every other guy who seems to like her) advances. It's great that this novel has alternating points of view because I loved getting into her head. Frannie has so much bottled up guilt over her little brother and few other 'incidents' she couldn't stop, it makes her question her traditional Catholic upbringing and if there really is even a God.
Don't think Luc is the only one out to collect Frannie. Oh no, she's special, and Heaven has sent it's own eye-candy, Gabe, aka Gabriel, down to make sure Luc doesn't succeed in his mission. Is it wrong to lust after angels, because this one is totally swoon worthy?? LOL I love it when Gabe and Luc get into battle of wits and words. Luc has feelings for Frannie and doesn't even know how to recognize jealousy. It's great to see his feelings develop for her and the struggle he goes through with that.
It's been a long time since I've liked two love interests in a book like these two. Ms. Desrochers did a fantastic job of making all the characters feel real and giving them each a very distinct personality. This is a must read for fans of the Paranormal Romance Young Adult Genre!
