This book has three distinct purposes. One is to provide a readable and clear outline of what mushrooms are, what kinds of mushrooms there are and what makes them tick. Then we get into a lot of possibilities for applications of fungi for everything from soil remediation to nutrition. The largest section of the book, and the part I keep finding myself referencing, is the section outlining techniques for cultivating mushrooms in non-laboratory settings. I'm a big fan of this books, a good beginners textbook on understanding fungi and their role in ecosystems.
