My first Julie Garwood book and I enjoyed this read very much. Unfortunately, I do find straight romances very annoying. Life, love doesn't work out in that fairy tale way, as much as we would like it to do. But throw in a little danger, mystery, intrigue and I'm there.

This was also an "easy" read for me. I find that I truly like to just flow sometimes, and not think hard or be pulled into life's shocking, disturbing side.

The main characters are a little too beautiful, but not annoying so. They were human enough that I could connect and get caught up in their story.

I would read Julie Garwood again. I know she writes medieval and historical romances, beside what I could call more contemporary romances. I have another contemporary that I purchased to read. I haven't ventured into the medieval or historical, yet, but I just may.
