Another sweet little story by McCall Smith. I listened to the audio book version, which was quite well-done. This story takes place in England during World War II, but has the author's trademark attention to ordinary people going about their lives. Upon finishing the book, you feel as though you have visited with the characters for awhile. For some reason, this book reminded me of "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" (Shaffer & Barrows), perhaps due to the WWII time period. I wouldn't call this book great literature; rather, it is a nice little diversion.
