This is the first book in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn Trilogy. I picked it up because Mr. Sanderson has recently been picked to finish the late Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I wanted to see if this guy was any good. And I have to say he is. I really like his writing style. It's different from Jordan's but also similar in ways. He's good at storytelling. He puts in a good amount of detail but not too much so as to bore you. The book moved at a good pace, no parts dragged on or moved too fast. He's a new author and because of it, is still subject to editing. I think this is a good thing! Many authors with experience have the weight to say they don't want editing and that hurts the final product. I'm glad I found Mr. Sanderson's work early on. I hope to be following his career for a long time!
