really liked it
bookshelves: urban-fantasy, not-mine-library, faeries
Read from June 30, 2010 to January 08, 2011

(First Read 6/30/2010) A great follow up to Darkfever. We learn a little more about the Fae world, and Mac kicks a little more ass. Unfortunately there is some disturbingly violent nearly nookie. But if you are able to disregard fist fights as foreplay it's all right.

UPDATE 1/8/11: Outstanding! As with my re-read of Darkfever, I was blown away by the foreshadowing here. What is so fecking brilliant about Moning's writing is that she slowly introduces you to both characters and plot. So many authors beat you over the head with who and what each character is from the first introduction (ie: the funny girl, nefarious guy, etc.) So many of the characters in the Fever series are constantly evolving as we, and Mac, learn more about both the people she encounters and the world she is living in. This make the Fever books a joy to read not only once, but multiple times. How often can a book be read multiple times and be a surprise and delight each time? Bravo Karen Marie Moning!

Oh yeah... and that "disturbingly violent nearly nookie" that so horrified me the first time through? Not nearly so disturbing the second time around. Although it was disappointingly brief....

Tatiana LOL on last paragraph. I find myself wanting to add more stars to my reviews after re-reading. But I am going to wait until Shadowfever

Yes, me too :) I sooo want to give 5 stars this time around, but am holding out...

Megan Knowing more (or thinking I know more) about Barron's and his motivations ~ made that scene much less disturbing and much more.... ah, you know :)

Tatiana Yeah, I do!>:o)

Megan =)

Kat Kennedy If Shadowfever sucks, it's just going to ruin this whole series for me. Gah! The pressure!

Tatiana Yep, every series is only as good as its last book...

Megan Only a few days left to find out!!!
