My daughter once asked me what contentment meant. I answered that it was quiet happiness, not roller coaster happiness. She instantly replied, "oh, I know what you mean. That is the feeling I have when I come home and the kitchen is clean and a candle is burning."

That sentiment sums up this book in a nutshell. I loved it. Charming. Not a page turner, but exquisite. I'm sure that there are those that will think it too idyllic - but you know what - that is what I liked best. Not all people in the world have a tortured soul. Some are simply happy. I could read this book every year and never grow tired of it.
