Junie B. Jones Is a Party Animal, written by Barbara Park. In this adventure we find Junie sleeping over at a friend’s house. In the beginning they have a great time. They played dress up, sand and danced. Finally they get into a pillow fight and the pillow opens up with feathers falling from everywhere. Nanna opens the door and comes in to find feathers everywhere and sends the kids to bed without another peep. Of course the kids start to “peep” and Nanna once again comes in the room but this time she is real mad. So she yells, and the kids fall asleep. In the morning, Junie is hungry, but doesn’t want to eat on the fine china, and chooses to have a banana instead. Once her mom picks her up, they head over to Junie’s grandma’s house for some blueberry pancakes. Another great Junie B. Jones book, appropriate for children ages 5 to 9.
