it was amazing
bookshelves: leisure-reading

Sam Sheridan has put in the work to produce a book that presents a fair and detailed look at what compels a wide range of fighters as well as what drives coaches and fans of competitive fighting as well.

I have given this book a five-star rating based on how much Sheridan raises the bar for books about fighting. Try looking at the "martial arts" section in most any bookstore sometime. It would be laughable if it weren't so sad. This book and this author take the subject as well as the audience seriously.

This is a book written not only for fighters and fight fans, but for those entirely removed from those worlds. Sam Sheridan wrote this book trying to figure out some things about himself, and then turned it over to the rest of us.

It must be nice to get paid to do that.
