The Good:

They definitely hired a better editor for this book. The only typos were at the back of the book, which I find pretty common in anything longer than about 600 pages, so I will forgive it. Goodkind's style has improved quite a bit for this second book as well. It was much smoother, non-repetitive, and he spins a damn good yarn. Great for when you don't want to do any thinking whatsoever.

The Bad:

A few plot holes here and there. And one or two situations where the characters didn't behave according to their natures, which drives me nuts. One part toward the end in particular, where the two main characters get all sad and depressed thinking one doesn't love the other, for no good reason at all other than to push forward a stupid plot line.

The Ugly:

I really could have done without the beastiality. I mean seriously, Goodkind, was that necessary? We'll still read your books without the gross sex stuff, I promise.
