** spoiler alert ** I am so conflicted. I wanted to give the book a higher rating but several things in the book bothered me. The blatant use of the f-bomb and other swear words was unnecessary. The sexual situations, while not many (2), weren't vital to the story, but were more understandable, given the morals of the characters. If these two items weren't there, it would be an astounding piece of literature.
The story is exactly like the jacket says, a mix of Narnia and Harry Potter. There are some twists that are unlike any other story. A wild ending...loved it! I couldn't put the last 100 pages down! I would recommend it with the above stipulations, watch out for the language. But I am glad I read it. There was a great message at the end...ok, sorry for the spoiler...

You have to be happy where you are...basically bloom where you are in the moment...don't live your life hoping for greener grass can control your own happiness...etc.

Still a great read!
