This is Book 4 of "The Black Dagger Brotherhood," and all I can say is it is AWESOME! This one is about Butch and how he finally gets together with Marissa. There are so many wonderful surprises in this novel (for those who have been reading the series from Book 1) that I can't say much about it without giving them away. So, no spoilers in this review (grin)!

However, I can say this is one of the best novels in this series IMO. Everything about it is incredibly entertaining (the dialogue banter, the plot, and subplots). It is a pure delight. An awesome read for sure!

Laura I hope you get a chance to read "The Black Dagger Brotherhood" series in 2008. You will love it! Although, I think you get more out of it if you read it in order, because J.R. Ward's MO is to continue subplots from book to book, and then grow them into the main plot for each book. So if you read them in order you get all the backstory. I don't think the covers tell you which book is which, so just in case, here they are in order:

1.) Dark Lover
2.) Lover Eternal
3.) Lover Awakened
4.) Lover Revealed
5.) Lover Unbound
6.) Lover Enshrined (coming out in June 2008)

No, I haven't read Lynn Viehl or Dawn Thompson. Did you like the Darklyn series? Up until the last month my vamp series reading has been in the urban fantasy genre, like the "Blood Books" by Tanya Huff, "The Anna Strong Vampire Chronicles" by Jeanne Stein, the "Southern Vampire" series by Charlaine Harris, etc.

Last month I started reading paranormal romance series and did really like 3 of the novels in Katie MacAlister's "The Dark Ones" vamp series:

2.) Sex and the Single Vampire
3.) Sex, Lies, and Vampires
4.) Even Vampires Get the Blues

I'll have to look into the ones you mentioned. I'm always looking for new paranormal romance series/authors (especially vamps) to add to my TBR list (grin)!
