This story was rather similar in initial “twist” to Cindy Dees’ The Longest Night
, taking quite a lot of enjoyment away. Still, the premise of a serial killer targeting women in their own home possibly living next door to the heroine, resulting in the FBI putting an agent in her home as pretend new husband had a lot of potential and it delivered quite nicely.
Again, I had a few problems with the heroine, but once the author shed light onto what happened in the past, her reactions were quite understandable. Also, it was nice seeing a small role-reversal between hero and heroine with him breeching the L subject first.
