All God's Children Need Traveling Shoes
by Maya Angelou
by Maya Angelou
I love Maya Angelou and think she's a brilliant storyteller. This is why I was able to get through the book in such a short time (like 3 days). However, I felt that it was more of Ms Angelous writing that propelled the story forward, than the actual story. It seemed directionless and lacking purpose. It was like a random recollection of events and her desire to move back to the states seemed forced when I wanted to know of her journey more. I guess I wanted more!!!! I wanted her to fill in the gaps as the story seemed awfully rushed and lacking depth!
Love her though and will keep reading her stuff. Her wisdom is what makes her stories so beautifully told.
