I really enjoyed Hearts At Stake (aka My Love Lies Bleeding). I finished it super quick - it kept me up all night!

The characters were really fun, and 'heroes' quite attractive. I'm happy that the sequel will only feature one love story; the split focus in this book was great for the pace of the novel, but it felt like Ms Harvey could have written a novel twice the size with these love stories. I wanted to know so much more about what each of the characters was thinking, or what happened between them!

My favourite love story was Lucy and Nicholas, just because Nicholas seems soo interesting! He appeared to be such a jerk at first - doing things like trying to drive off without Lucy when their were vampires nearby stalking her! I liked the fact that sometimes Ms Harvey showed you something instead of telling you - for example Nicholas had a picture of Lucy and him on his bedside and that let you know he'd liked her for a long time.

The adventure aspect of this novel was very cleverly written! It kept you turning those pages!

My favourite side characters were Lucy's parents and Solange's mum (although her aunts and brothers were pretty awesome too!). I am definitely looking forward to the sequel, Blood Feud, which is going to focus on a brother's love story.

I would recommend this book to someone looking for a quick and addictive read, and to someone who has a good imagination (the word count of this book is too small for lengthy descriptions by the author); it's fun, creative, and at times laugh out loud funny.
