This book is amazing. It is really dark and disturbing at times, but it's an incredible look into the psyche of people during war. Frazier is very good at creating real character. Neither Inman nor Ada are clear good or bad characters, and the secondary characters like Ruby are at once humorous and tragic. This is not an uplifting book, and it can be hard to get through, but stick with it...it's worth it.
