Back in March 1996 the Red Wings played in the best hockey game ever, beating Colorado in overtime. What made the game great was not just that it was a great game, but it had all this weight of past and future history in it - the rivalry that started the year before and the sense that the Wings would win the cup. This book chronicles that Detroit-Colorado rivalry. Despite being written by a Colorado sports writer, the book is fairly objective and detailed, and a must read for Wings fans looking to reimmerse themselves in the glory years of that rivalry
