it was amazing

Read from August 02 to 24, 2010

Having loved "The Historian", I was keen to read this new novel by Kostova.

The story gripped me from the start. The characters were very well portrayed and extremely likeable, so I was eager to follow their lives and find out what would happen to them.

Without giving too much away, I loved the premise and eventual conclusion and enjoyed all the art references and discussions on art and being an artist.

I was happy with the short chapters as it meant I could dip into this book even when I only had a few minutes and the writing style was very fluid and matched well with the main period of painting the book described - the Impressionists.

All in all a wonderful piece of writing and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a book that they can really sink into and immerse themselves in.

Now, I am inspired to go and reread "The Historian"!
