I thought this book was a little slow going at the beginning but fell in love about half way through and loved the rest.

This book dances back and forth between the past and the present involving the lives of three different women, all intertwined. It begins with a four year old girl found alone on a ship to Australia and the book revolves around her attempts to find her story, flashbacks to those involved in her tale, and finally, her granddaughter's attempts to tie all loose ends together. It's well written and kept my interest (once I got past the first few chapters). And I admit, there is a secret garden involved and even a brief cameo featuring Frances Hodgson Burnett that probably made me love the book even more. Who doesn't want a secluded cottage at the end of a maze with a secret garden?
