An eye opening read, McConnell does an excellent job of contrasting human and canine tendencies and how these differences (and similarities) affect our everyday interactions and impact the way we humans can train our dog companions in more a more effective way.

225681 I read this book last christmas, when i adopted crazy sophie from a shelter - let's just say that dogs who are abandoned come with a whole slew of issues! this book is not only a great read, it helped me relate to and interact with my pup. It also helped me realize that i also have a slew of issues and expectations that my dog had to learn to work with and that I could not just expect her to understand me if i did not learn to understand her.
