really liked it
Read in March, 2006

This is the first of a series of books about James Bond as a teenager. While it is marketed to young adults, it was really written for an old guy like me, who read the original Ian Fleming books back in the sixties. These books go back to Fleming's original timeline. James Bond is thirteen (I think) in this book. It is set pre-World War II. For a modern day kid, the first half of this book would be slow. There is a lot of back story told. The second half of the book is non-stop action and worth waiting for. For me, the back story was great. Lots of memories and connections. Fun.
