** spoiler alert ** This a beautifully written book about the sidhe (elf) Whim who on the surface is not serious or constant but who is actually filled with emotional depth and capable of all consuming love. Charlie has never loved anyone before Whim and through loving him, he grows from year to year to be a wonderful and loving man. Many years pass in this story but none of it drags. The language, an Amy Lane standard, is gorgeous. For fans of her Vulnerable series, this is a great treat as it is a world we know and love though it can stand completely alone.
