Although there were bright points in Hex and the City, this book was somewhat of a disappointment for me. It seems like the purpose of the book is to act as a bridge between John Taylor's stand-alone adventures and those dealing with his larger personal arc.

The plot involves Taylor and his group traveling to the lair of one Powerful Being after another and asking some questions, receiving unsatisfying answers and beating up other Less Powerful Beings along the way. Taylor's powers have gotten so strong that I never really believed he was in danger. Eventually, the solution to his case just plops in, in classic deus ex machina style.
