The House Book, written by Keith DuQuette tells a story about how a house is created and the importance of a house. Children learn how a house is created from wall to wall and ceiling to floor. They learn about the different shapes that go into a house and how a house shelters are needs. The author does an excellent job in giving children a tour through the house in this book. Keith also does a great job in pointing out that houses come in different shapes and sizes and can be located in different neighborhoods. Repetitive language is used to get the point across. The illustrations help readers experience every detail of the house. This book is perfect to teach children shapes. This book can also be valuable if one is moving to a new home. The House Book is perfect for children 4 to 8 years of age.
