Think I found a new favorite series! :) (while I am waiting for other books to come out)
Seeker, Raine (30 yrs old - age helps with the romance in this book, as well as the character's experience/judgement - personal perk) is helping out a friend by keeping a necklace in safe keeping for him. Raine soon finds herself as the keeper of this powerful necklace and with magical abilities magnified whether she likes them or not.
To top it off, this necklace is the target for several powerful leaders -- hence painting a bull's eye on herself. But what Raine slowly finds out is the more deadly enemy lies hidden in the power she now wields. Others who have tried to control it before have lost their minds and their souls. Raine is now connected to that power and the only way she can find to release her from it will put her within the source's hungry grasp.
I love the adventure, consistent page turning action. Also the characters and relationships here. There is also a romance triangle in the background that will be fun to unfold. Now to get a hold of the next few books fast enough...because the story certainly continues.
