Lots of interesting stuff happens in this one, and lots of interesting characters, but... no central plot. It just sort of... is. I wonder if Harris is thinking too much about True Blood now. Unlike the pre-TV books, this one has many plotlines that'll be great fodder for the TV series (which necessarily needs more plot lines per season than the one-book-a-season rate offers). Which might be good in... lordy... seven years?
