Read from June 08 to 10, 2010 , read count: 1

This book answered some psychological questions I have had regarding why some people appear to seek out pain in their lives and can't seem to let go of unhealthy addiction, behavioral or otherwise. It describes the painbody as a separate energy, feeding the ego and creating self-definitions that it must constantly justify. I appreciated the relation of anxiety and stress to the concept of time. Our minds love to go astray and beat themselves up with stories from the past and worries about the future: both of which only exist in our imaginations.

However, I cannot give The Power of Now a full 5 stars. I could have done without the hetero misogynist slant at times and didn't really appreciate short commentary on menstruation and the painbody. Eckhart Tolle is clearly a wise man, but needs to leave issues of being female to females.
