This was another uplifting book full of real truths about life, God, etc. Mitch Albom is asked by his childhood Rabbi if he will write his eulogy when he dies. Albom has for many years been inactive in his faith, or any faith really. He is uncomfortable with the request but doesn't feel like he can say no. So that he can write an accurate eulogy he begins to spend time with the Rabbi. For several years he spends afternoons with the Rabbi and rebuilds a relationship with him.

pg 102 Mitch: "So have we solved the secret of happiness

"I believe so," he said.
"Are you going to tell me?" (Mitch)
"Yes, Ready?" " Be satisfied."
"That's It?" (Mitch)
"Be grateful."
"That's it?" (Mitch)
"For what you have. For the love you receive. And for what God has given you."
"That's it?" (Mitch)
He looked me in the eye. Then he sighed deeply. "That's it."

pg 129
"This is why", the Rev said, "Faith is so important. It is a rope for us all to grab, up and down the mountain. I may not be remembered in so many years. But what I believe and have taught - about God, about our tradition - that can go on. It comes from my parents and their parents before them. And if it stretches to my grandchildren and to their grandchildren, then we are all. you know ..."

"That's it."
